Raise your hand if you’ve ever used your vacation time as inspiration time! I do this alllll the time and it’s the best way to recharge my creative batteries and shoot something that is 100% personal.
Almost every time I plan a trip, I’m always thinking “how can I make this an opportunity to stretch and grow my craft?”
If you’ve been following me on Instagram (if not, definitely do so HERE!), you’d know that I was out west traveling around for most of the winter. Ever since discovering Joshua Tree National Park I’d been wanting to shoot there and come to find out, it was only 1.5 hours away from where my parents live! So I arranged to have the most adorable couple come model for me in the park and it was awesome! Most of our shoot was either at random pull-off’s around Hidden Valley or around the Barker Dam. The dam was about a mile hike, which was totally spontaneous and we were definitely not wearing the proper shoes, but we managed and it did not disappoint! If you visit the park, I would definitely recommend it.
