In the summer of 2008, Sal moved back to New York City from college and began working for the local retail shop “Something Else”. He continued there for two years, and in 2010 the shop hired Rebecca at a different store location. They spoke on the phone for about a year regarding simple clothing transactions and business. Sal only worked a handful of Sundays in all the years he was there and the chances of transferring merchandise between stores on a Sunday were slim to none. On a random Sunday, the owner of the shop called to ask if Sal could work. When he came in, he was instructed to make a merchandise transfer to the other two shops. He hesitated at first not wanting to drive in the traffic but what lied ahead was just the beginning. As he carried boxes into the other shop, he looked and there she was, on the top of a ladder folding clothes on a high shelf, Rebecca. They said a polite “hello” and moved on with their duties. On the drive back, Sal decided to fb message Rebecca. They spoke day after day for hours and hours on end. That first week they went on their first date in the city, pizza and milkshakes. What they didn’t know was that it was the first date of many to come. Six years later, they were engaged! You can view their engagement session HERE!
Rebecca and Sal had a beautiful sunny wedding day at the end of March (which was amazing because the weather the weeks leading up had been all over the place). The ceremony was at Aldie Mansion followed by a cocktail on the patio with delicious foods including a giant station of Jambalaya! During the reception we snuck the couple out for some sunset photos (my favorite!) and portraits under Aldie’s giant tree lit up with lights!
