The bride and I met at a bookclub soon after I moved to North Carolina, and I’m so glad we did! I originally wasn’t planning on making the meeting but hurried because I knew it was good for me to get out and meet people in my new town! Soon after meeting sweet Sammi, I was asked to photograph her wedding in Andrews NC! Being social pays off ;)
Fast forward a year, and there were both Sammi and Brad on a beautiful fall day in western North Carolina, in the mountains, getting married :) Sammi’s dress is from my FAVORITE bridal store in Winston Salem, Bellissima, and her gold toned bouquet and wedding flowers was provided by Flower Moxie, an online DIY floral shop. Hawkesdene Wedding Venue has a 4-wheeler that you can ride up to a gorgeous overlook, perfect for photos with the bride and groom.
The ceremony was under two rows of towering crape myrtles at the entrance, and the cocktail hour and reception were held around the barn while the guests played yard games and enjoyed a candlelit dinner. Sammi and Brad shared their first dance as husband and wife under the strung market lights, followed by a dance party put on by Scenic Event Solutions. The evening ended with some sparklers accompanied by lots of cheering and cuddling in the cool mountain air.
