Have jason and I really been married for 4 years? Has time really flown that fast? On one hand I feel like I have known him forever, and on the other I still feel like a newlywed lol. We have been on a long journey since meeting each other 5 years ago, so I thought I would write a little thing about how we met and our lives right now:)
We both met attending a neighbor meet and greet eating pizza and playing games. The next day he took me out to dinner and then we watched Fantastic Mr. Fox. This weird claymation is in his top 5 favorite movies so I guess I had to watch it with him.. (since we have been married we have watched this movie together at least a dozen more times and it grows on you I promise lol). 2 weeks later I told him he either needed to commit himself to me and date me exclusively or we weren’t going to date anymore. Sounds harsh but I was ready to settle down and didn’t want to waste my time with someone who wasn’t serious about me. He told me he would call his mom in the morning to tell her that he had a girlfriend! yes! 11 months later he proposed to me on my 20th birthday and then we were married on July 21st, 2011. Since then we have studied our butts off in undergrad, Jason took the MCAT, got into Penn State Medical School, we both graduated with our bachelors degrees from Utah State University, moved to Pennsylvania, and finished our first year of medical school (I say “we” even though he is just in medical school. Med school takes over the lives of everyone involved so basically I’m in medical school too lol).
We have loved every second here on the east coast. And even though med school is hard on both of us, we do our best to keep ourselves busy so we don’t go too crazy missing each other all the time. I’m so grateful for our lives together and I can’t wait to see what this next year has in store for us. Here’s to 4 years of marriage!!
