If you recognize this family, it might be because this is actually my SECOND birth story I’ve done for them! You can view their first birth story with their son Hudson HERE!
This time around, Kelly was about a week past her due date so as you can imagine I was constantly checking my phone waiting for word. On a Wednesday night around 10pm I started getting messages about contractions. Around midnight they went to the hospital to get checked in and at 5:45am she was dilated 6cm so I left for the hospital.
After photographing details of the hospital and the room, it was about 9:00am when she was at 10cm and they broke her water. Everyone was so calm and quietly anticipating the arrival of little Bennett on this rainy morning in Harrisburg. I love how involved Kelly’s mom was too. She was so supportive and anxious to meet her new grandchild.
The nurse’s then cleared the room and left just me, Kelly, and her husband. About 5 pushes later, Bennett arrived healthy as can be at 9 pounds 13 ounces. Mom and dad were thrilled and grandma burst through the door just moments later to meet Bennett. SO many happy tears going around that I couldn’t help but shed a couple myself :)
One of my favorite parts of their birth story was photographing big brother, Hudson, meeting his new baby brother. He had a big smile on his face and couldn’t wait to give Bennett a nice big hug and kiss along with a birthday present. Hudson is obsessed with birthdays so they even had a birthday cake for baby Bennett ;)
I’m so blessed to have been able to photograph not just 1, but 2 birth stories for this wonderful family! Enjoy and grab tissues!
