Caitlyn and Chris are one of the many engaged couples that originally planned on having their big wedding celebration earlier this year in 2020. However due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all of those Spring and early Summer celebrations got postponed. Even though their big wedding was moved to 2021, not even a pandemic could keep these two from officially becoming husband and wife. They arranged an intimate wedding at the Tanglewood Park Arboretum here in North Carolina. Only 10 people (that includes myself) were in attendance.
One the afternoon of a beautiful sunny day, I met Caitlyn and Chris at the Tanglewood Arboretum right across from the Manor House. Both arrived in separate cars so that they could see each other or the first time down the aisle. I followed Chris and his family to the ceremony area and photographed them setting up 6 chairs and pinning boutonnieres. Shortly after, Caitlyn walked in to meet her soon-to-be husband. She bought a second wedding dress to wear on this day so that her original dress could still be a surprise for next year ;)
After the ceremony, I took the family to a little shaded area for portraits. Since there were less than 10, it went fairly quickly! I spent the rest of the time with the bride and groom wandering around the garden capturing portraits of these darling newlyweds. Weddings during the Coronavirus can still be special (and more peaceful in my opinion). With only immediate family present and no events such as cocktail hour and a dinner, we were really able to focus on what the day was really about. The bride and groom. Loved photographing this intimate wedding at the Tanglewood Park Arboretum and hope that even though this couple has another wedding celebration to come, they will always remember how special this day was.
