I always encourage my engaged couples to help pick a location for their engagement session. As I’ve said in my previous post, picking a location for your engagement session, I always suggest two things. Pick a place that’s personal, or pick a place that gives a certain “feeling” or “vibe”. For Jessica and Stu, they wanted downtown charlotte park engagement photos. The perfect mix of greenery and city architecture. So after much research, because there are actually tons of parks in Charlotte, we settled on Freedom Park and Marshall Park. Both were easy to park at, and close enough together that we wouldn’t have to spend much time driving in between. Win Win!
So Freedom Park is actually pretty big. There are multiple parking lots all around the park and there was actually a big event happening while we were there (you just wouldn’t know it because I’m really good at making my couples look like they are the only ones there, even when it’s crowded)! We started at the iconic bridge, walked around the pond and stopped at lots of little scenic corners during our walk. Love all these photos by the water!
Then we traveled over the Marshall Park to change outfits and finish the rest of the session. Marshall Park is way smaller than Freedom Park which makes parking and getting around a lot easier. Marshall Park is the place you want to go to get those awesome cityscape photos of downtown Charlotte! The wind started picking up too, which I secretly loved because Jessica’s hair started flying and it just gave it a romantic breezy look. Marshall park also has a pond surrounded by concrete walkways, bridges, and a fountains which is where we ended. Super excited for their wedding at the Foundation for the Carolinas this year in Charlotte!
