Multiple times in 2020 I had the honor of being able to step in and do engagement sessions for couples that weren’t able to travel home to get an engagement session done by their own wedding photographer. Macie and Eric were one of those couples. This Tanglewood Park Fall Engagement Session was done in October and we had the most beautiful crisp weather. We started the session at the arboretum behind the Manor House. You could really do a whole session in this tiny little garden because there are so many cute nooks for photos!
I really loved Macie’s dress that she chose for this location. Very flowy and romantic which is what I recommend for all women. You really can’t go wrong with a dress. Macie paired her dress with Eric’s dress shirt and slacks with an open collar so that it wasn’t overly dressy, which I like.

After photos at the arboretum, they switched into clothes that were a little more casual and comfy. We drove deeper into Tanglewood Park and stopped at a couple open fields as well as a pond on the way out. I loved how different these last areas looked compared to the romantic garden we started at. Once I got a chance to get a feel for their personalities, we did a lot more playful posing towards the end. I especially love all the fall colors by the pond that we ended at! Keep that in mind when picking a location for your own engagement session. Make sure it has lots of variety in a small area. That way you get more photos within a shorter amount of time, and more variety which is also important :)
