Newborn sessions have become some of my favorite sessions in 2020. When all my weddings postponed, I found that I had lots of time to dedicate to photos of tiny babies, in beautiful nurseries, with their loving families. This Circus Tent Inspired Newborn Session in Winston Salem was definitely at the top of that list for most stunning and unique nurseries I’ve ever photographed. The mom chose a bright green trim in the nursery with subtle hints of circus throughout the space. There was a stuffed zebra, a cozy deep blue rug in the center of the room, and a giant print hung above the brass crib from Juniper Print Shop. This particular print is called Sonnet.
The playroom next door had even stronger circus tent vibes with the red and white striped ceiling. I also loved all the vintage wooden and stuffed toys on the shelves. The perfect place for little Peter to start playing and imagining as soon as he’s old enough :)
For this newborn session here in Winston Salem, I started with detail photos of the nursery followed by little Peter in his crib along with closeup photos of all his little fingers and toes. After all his solo portrait were done, mom and dad held him for the rest of the session. We got lots of fun snuggly photos of the whole family together as well as some with just mom and some with just dad. Those photos are some of my favorites in newborn sessions because I feel like it captures their individual relationships with their baby. So cute!
