Will and Madi won a giveaway I was hosting with A Touch of Southern Events and Simply Oak Boutique. The won a free engagement session from me so we started emailing right away about a session date and location. When chatting about location options (you can read more about how to choose a location for your engagement session here), they both mentioned that they love the mountains and outdoors.
Both Madi and Will are in the medical field and recently moved to Winston Salem to work and train. Because of that they didn’t really have any specific locations that were personal to them. So I took that information and suggested that we take photos at Pilot Mountain! It’s close (30 minutes from Winston Salem), and you can easily drive right to the top for those picturesque mountain photos without having to hike. It was the perfect spot!
Our Pilot Mountain Fall Engagement session began in their cozy fall clothes. We walked to a nearby field to take photos with their cute dog. I LOVE when couples bring their dogs to engagement sessions (you can read about my tips on bringing dogs to your engagement session here). After we finished, the helper (aka my husband) hung out with the pup so we could get a few more photos of just Madi and Will in their casual attire. I was OBSESSED with Madi’s booties! I even took a few photos just highlighting their shoes to show how much I loved them haha.
Their second outfit was their dressy one, and both outfits looked so good together! Madi word a black top with long flowy sleeves and a purple skirt. Will wore a white button-up with a grey jacket and black slacks, very classic looking. We spent the sunset on the rocks of Pilot Mountain and sitting on the edge of a cliff. I was a tad nerve-racking, but totally worth the photos don’t you think?
