Mckenna Bleu's Maternity Session | Board and Batten Events

I first came across Mckenna Bleu when I was touring the venue Board and Batten Events in Lexington North Carolina. She was there making preparations for her wedding and I was there planning a styled shoot. I started following Mckenna on instagram that day and a year later she reached out to me asking photograph her maternity session! Photographing Mckenna Bleu’s Maternity Session was everything I ever dreamed for a maternity session. She actually picked Board and Batten Events for the location which was so sweet since they had their wedding there just the previous year.

We picked a sunny spring day in April for their session. The grass was a warm green and the trees were just starting to fill out with all their leaves. I love that Mckenna wanted her husband to be a part of the session as well. It was so fun watching them both snuggle that little baby bump with anticipation. After spending some time under the shade of the trees we moved to the grass field which was where some of my very favorite images from this session were taken. Fields with long grass are so romantic and soft looking, and it was the perfect location for these stunning maternity photos.

Another element that made this session so amazing were the outfit choices. Mckenna nailed it with that pink floral dress. I loved how flowy it was and the movement of it every time she moved. It also perfectly wrapped around her cute baby bump making it the best maternity dress. Whether it’s an engagement session or maternity session, you can never go wrong with a long flowy, floral dress :) Enjoy some of my favorites!
