You wouldn’t guess looking at these photos that it was pouring rain during a good portion of the day. That’s why it’s so important to hire a photographer that knows the timeline inside and out and can plan around rain. That’s how we were able to capture so many outdoor portraits during this Charleston Wedding at Alhambra Hall. I started off the day at Avery’s airbnb photographing her getting ready as well as capturing flat lay images of all her pretty details (I mean those shoes were stunning, am I right?!?). I always highly recommend that my couples scout out a really pretty getting ready location for their wedding day if their venue doesn’t have good light for getting ready. You can read all about my tips for picking a wedding day getting ready location HERE.
After Avery got in her dress and we spent some time capturing a few bridal portraits, she did a first look with her Dad before traveling to the venue. First looks with bridal parties and parents are becoming a trendy thing with weddings now-a-days and I love it! Once we arrived at Alhambra Hall, my second shooter already had our groom, Kevin, set up. They shared a sweet and tender first look before continuing with couples portraits, wedding party portraits, and family photos. The mode of transportation to and from the venue and church was the cutest blue vintage trolley named Walt. We definitely made sure to get some pictures with this beauty before jumping on.
At the church, the bride and groom hired a live painter to capture a beautifully painted canvas during the ceremony as well as a string trio as they walked up and down the aisle. I love the attention to detail with this wedding! After the ceremony and a few more portraits, we hopped back on the trolley to head back to Alhambra Hall. The rest of the evening was spent enjoying delicious food from the food stations, dancing, a surprise birthday cake for our groom, and the finishing of the painting. I’m so excited to finally share this amazing wedding with you all!
