I shot this Fred Fletcher Park engagement session in the fall and my oh my look at all those colors in the trees!! My engaged couple, Megan and Sam, made sure to include an engagement session in their wedding package and I’m so glad they did. Engagement sessions really are such an easy way to get to know your photographer before the high pressure of the wedding day. It’s a more casual and relaxed setting, allows me as the photographer to really get to know the couple and their personalities, as well as them to get comfortable with my process of posing for photos. After shooting an engagement session, all my couples can relax way more on their wedding day knowing that they’ve been through this process before.
One of my past couples wrote this awesome review about their engagement session-
“Her style uses soft, romantic light and she focuses on telling a story. She made us feel at ease during our engagement session by not making us pose stiffly but simply guided us in natural motions.”- Phanann & Josh
A big part of my engagement sessions with couples is to help their personalities shine through the photos. If they are goofy and playful people, then I make sure their photos reflect that! If they are intimate and quiet people, their photos will reflect that! Of course I have a bunch of poses up my sleeves to help guide each of my couples into poses that look natural and authentic, but I’m also really good at reading people. Megan and Sam for example are extremely playful people. During their session they danced around, gave piggy-back rides, snuggled, and laughed out loud. They even brought their cute pups to the session which I loved! You can read more about Tips on including your dogs in engagement sessions HERE. I hope their personalities are showing through these photos, because that was the goal ;)
