Posing a couple with their dog is my favorite! I absolutely love when my couples bring their fur babies along for photos. Seriously, I think they should always be included! But, when I was first starting out as a wedding photographer, an extra body – furry as it may be – worried me when it came to posing. Over the last few years, I’ve really streamlined my posing techniques and options. It helps me remember a good flow for sessions and make the most out of every pose we use. So today, I’m sharing my 3 favorite poses that I love doing with couples with dogs.
The tutorial today is super short and sweet. I want you to be able to go use these poses right away with your own couples! A quick pro tip from someone who’s photographed a lot of dogs over the years.. encourage your couples to bring someone to help with the dog in between photos. It will make everything feel less stressful.
