As a wedding photographer, I love that CCNC gives you pine trees, water, green golf course views, and indoor and outdoor spaces all within a pretty small area.

Everything being so close together is a huge plus for photos, too. We can get a ton of variety without spending your wedding day hiking from one location to the next. CCNC is best known for elegant garden-style weddings, tented outdoor setups, and scenic backdrops overlooking the water and pine trees. The country club itself has more traditional interiors, multiple bars, and a dance floor, while outside you get that secluded Pinehurst setting.

Wedding ceremonies at CCNC are generally held outdoors on the back patio under the tall pine trees. I love this area because you’re surrounded by so much green, with the water and trees creating a naturally beautiful backdrop.

Your reception can take place inside the clubhouse or outdoors on the patio. I’ve photographed the patio being used for a ceremony and then completely transformed with tables, chairs, and decor about 60 minutes later.

I’ve also photographed a Country Club of North Carolina wedding where the couple had their ceremony at an offsite church, hosted dinner on the back patio, and then brought everyone inside the clubhouse for dancing, appetizers, and drinks. Cocktail hour can flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces on the back deck.

One of my favorite things about CCNC is how easily everything flows together. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces are all right next to each other, so guests aren’t spending a lot of time moving from one location to another.

The back deck of the clubhouse is my favorite spot for cocktail hour. It’s outdoors but covered, and guests can easily access the food inside. Onsite catering is also an option.

I’ve photographed a tent on top of the back patio, and it was gorgeous. Having that option makes it easier to create a rain plan while still enjoying the outdoor setting.

To have your wedding at the Country Club of North Carolina, you need to either be a member of the club or have a member connection or sponsor.

Why I Love Working at Country Club of North Carolina

As a wedding photographer, I love all the pine trees and water surrounding the venue. Everything is so green, and there are lots of options for portraits without having to travel far.

I also love how naturally beautiful both the patio and the inside of the clubhouse are. A planner can bring in the couple’s color palette and decor and completely transform the space, which means no two weddings here have to look alike.

My couples will often rent Airbnbs within minutes of the clubhouse and right on the golf course. This gives everyone a large space to get ready and hang out with their wedding party. Then we can step right outside for photos on the course surrounded by pine trees before taking a quick drive to the clubhouse to finish family and couples portraits.

Favorite spots for Country Club of North Carolina wedding photos

As a wedding photographer, I love how many photo locations we have to work with at CCNC.

There are paved pathways around the clubhouse, which makes getting around much easier when you’re wearing heels. The back lawn has one of my favorite scenic views, and around the back of the clubhouse we can use the tall pine trees and lake for portraits.

There are also multiple outdoor staircases that work well when we need space for larger groups like your wedding party or family. If we want to change things up, we can even venture onto the golf course for some night portraits.

Inside the clubhouse, there are rooms where we can take cozy couch photos of the bride hanging out with her bridesmaids or candids with the groom with his groomsmen.

And a golf cart can make for a really fun exit. I’ve seen couples decorate one with flowers and a little “Just Married” banner before heading out at the end of the night.

Think beyond just the wedding day when you’re planning your weekend here.

I’ve photographed welcome parties down at the pool just below the clubhouse, and it’s such a fun country club atmosphere. You can host your Friday night rehearsal dinner and welcome party on the pool deck, giving close friends and family a place to gather, eat, and listen to toasts before the wedding.

It’s also worth taking advantage of the fact that CCNC offers so many different backdrops in one location. We can stay close to the clubhouse for portraits, use the pine trees and lake behind it, or head onto the golf course when we want something different.

Speaking of thinking beyond the wedding day, here in the South there is a traditional called “Bury the Bourbon”. Couples bury an unopened bottle of bourdon at their venue exactly 30 days from their wedding and it’s meant to ward off rain and bring good weather for the wedding date. The photos of unburying the bourbon are so fun! Highly recommend if you want a little extra luck.
