Who says that winter engagement photos can’t be just as beautiful and breathtaking as engagement photos taken in the warm months? This Romare Bearden Park engagement session was so fun to photograph and we had the most amazing golden hour. Charlotte will always amaze me with all the super cool parks located within a ten minute radius of each other. The Romare Bearden Park however is famous for it’s amazing view of the Charlotte city skyline. So naturally, the skyline is where we started the session.
Mackenzie and Nick were visiting family in the area for Christmas break so we scheduled their engagement session during their trip. Since they’ll be getting married in November of 2021 at Founders Hall, it felt right to do their engagement session in the same city. For the engagement session, Mackenzie and Nick decided to bring their dog for a few photos here and there. You guys know how much I love dogs in engagement sessions! You can check out another super fun engagement session with a dog here too! After taking a few photos at Romare Bearden Park, we walked around the city a bit during golden hour before ending the session back at the park.
I highly encourage all my engaged couples to book an engagement session with me before their wedding day. Not only is it a great opportunity to get photos for save-the-dates, but it’s also the perfect time to get to know my as their photographer before the high stress of the wedding day. I love getting to know my couples during their engagement session. It helps me know how to best photograph them and help them to get comfortable with how I direct and pose for photos. That way when the wedding day comes, they are completely comfortable and have no reservations about their wedding day photography :)
